Libby Spencer

United Way of the Coalfield Executive Director, Libby Spencer is a native of Hopkins County.  Libby has more than 20 years experience leading non-profit development efforts across the southeast. Prior to joining the United Way staff, she was the Development Director for Youth Entrepreneurs, an organization founded by Charles and Elizabeth Koch to open doors to economic empowerment for youth and place them on a path to prosperity for themselves and their communities.

Libby is a lifetime Girl Scout and a graduate of Madisonville North Hopkins High School and Murray State University. Libby resides in Madisonville with her husband Bud Spencer.

Danette Emery

Administrative Assistant Danette Emery has been with the United Way of the Coalfield since February 2016. Prior to her work with United Way, she worked as executive administrative assistant for a Henderson based specialty contractor for more than two decades, where she gained experience in office administration, sales, marketing, and customer service. Her responsibilities include pledge processing, campaign data maintenance, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and preparing financial reports. Danette and her husband, Richard, were married in 2009 and currently reside in Madisonville. Danette is a church trustee, serves in the children’s ministry department, and is a musician on the worship team. In her free time she enjoys sightseeing, spending time with the grandkids, and playing Rummy with her mother.
